Website not working on Home WiFi

  • I accidentally cancelled my domain last night and had to get it reinstated. Since then I have been unable to access my site and my self hosted WordPress account on my Home WiFi. I get an error message saying the website is not secure. Works fine on 3G and for others just not for me on WiFi. How do I resolve this?

  • Hi, I think the https issue is due to the page containing scripts from unauthenticated sources’ read more about this here:

    https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/99020?p=unauthenticated&visit_id=0-636469817604224866-1064330755&rd=2

That said, your site is not actually hosted with WordPress.COM so you are asking in the wrong place on this one I’m afraid, your site appears to be hosted with siteground.com so you should contact them in case of any site issues https://www.siteground.com/support

The fact you have issues via your home wireless network is due to the recent updates to your DNS, the changes may not have fully propagated to your wireless router yet, a quick restart of the router should help if you continue to have issues. Be sure to also flush the cache on your browser, more on browser issues:

    Hope this helps!

  • Hi
I have contacted sightground however they say because my domain was bought from WordPress they can not help me. Router has been reset multiple times and cache flushed but still nothing

  • Hi, Well your site is working fine for me using latest Google Chrome 61.0.3163.100 I don’t get the scary warning you see which you have to click ‘advanced’ and then ‘proceed to…’ to get to the site. Which web browser and version are you using? Have you updated your browser recently?

From here, I only get a warning symbol in the right hand side of the URL bar indicating unauthenticated scripts, but other than that your site loads ok for me.

Siteground should be offering support regardless of where you purchased your domain name, you do host your site with them now not WordPress.COM!

Let us know if you have any success in resolving this, or any updates you have on the issue.
