want to use plugins, flickr etc
-
Ok, I’m not having much success here, getting frustrated and lost.
I have a wordpress.com site and from what I understand, I can’t use plugins on it.
I have the domain from 1and1 and I believe that my site is still hosted on wordpress. My question is what do I do next?
Ideally I want to be able to post photos as an individual post based on the content from my flickr account.
I take a lot of photos and I want an easy way to share them, my thought was the flickr account as it’s a pro and I won’t have to worry about storage size restrictions.
Can someone give me a few pointers?
You might have guessed that this is my first attempt at this sort of stuff…
Thanks in advance.

You don’t need a plug-in to have images on a blog here:

http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/#insert-an-image-from-the-webA couple of thoughts:
Your site will load faster if you upload to WordPress because the browser doesn’t have to go through to Flikr to fetch the file so it can display the picture on your blog.
You have 3 GB of storage space on wp.com. If you size and compress your pictures properly you have room for thousands of files! Uploading an image wider than the theme you use is not logical (you can link a smaller image to a very large image though). Also keep in mind that computers have a resolution of 72dpi so uloading a picture with a higher resolution is only wasting your storage space.

You can also upload to Flickr and connect it with your blog so it posts your pictures as blog posts; that’s a setting in your Flickr account.
