want to spread out pictures in gallery to take up full screen

Add topic to favorites
Have added pictures to gallery in 3 column, but it kind of stays in the centre instead of spreading out to take up full screen. How to change this? Please help.

Hi there, the following will widen things to nearly full width. Go to Customize > CSS, delete all the informational text in that window, and paste in the following custom CSS.
```
.site-content, .site-footer {
    max-width: 100%;
}
```

Thank you so much for the above CSS!!

My gallery setting is thumbnail, size medium. I copy pasted the above custom CSS, it does help spread it out but it is aligned to left not center. When I change the size to be large, then it aligns perfectly in center and full width but pictures look too big. I am aiming to get slightly bigger size image than “medium” and smaller than “large and make them “align center” while spreading full width. Not sure how to get this? Will changing the image size help?

You can adjust the size of the large images at Settings > Media in your site admin area. Perhaps you can adjust the large size there and then use that large size in your galleries. Just to note on the sizes shown there, basically the two dimensions create a bounding box for the image, so whichever image dimension is greater will be the one that determines the actual size of the image. In other words if you have an image that is 3 times as tall as it is wide, the image will not be the full width you have at Settings > Media for large. I hope that isn’t too confusing. :)
