UX enhancement in new post screen
-
Hi there,
I want to suggest a minor UX enhancement on new post screen. When we click Write button to create a new post on WordPress.com blog, by default Uncategorized category is CHECKED which remains checked no matter if you selected or not selected other categories. This behavior is not user friendly. I have to manually uncheck Uncategorized category always after selecting required category. This should be automated.
In short, Uncategorized category should be automatically unchecked if user has selected at least one category for the post and it should only be checked automatically when user has not selected any category. This way, users won’t have to bother with unchecking Uncategorized category always. Many times, my colleagues forget unchecking it and such posts remain tagged with Uncategorized category.
You should consider fixing it. Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There always has to be at least one default category. You have just left yours to the original setting of “uncategorized”. You can easily change the default category for something more appropriate to your site or even change “uncategorized” to something else entirely.
