If I upgrade from the free plan to the personal plan, would I be able to write metadeta snippets and SEO titles for my pages (as you can with Yoast)? It says the Jetpack includes SEO but not sure in what form.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No, If you wish to write your Meta Description then you’ll have to upgrade your account to WordPress.com Business Plan.
Only Business plan has the feature to do that and you can also find what other features in the following link

Hi Susan,

Jetpack is the plugin for sites which are using Self-hosted version of WordPress, It’s a free and open source software available at WordPress.org

If you’d like to know the difference between WordPress.com vs WordPress.org check here.

For those who have their site hosted with Self-hosted version of WordPress can use the ”JetPack Profession plan”
(It includes: Site verification, XML sitemaps, Preview Google, Preview Facebook, Preview Twitter, Custom META, Custom titles.)

Your website which is hosted at WordPress.com doesn’t need JetPack plugin it’s only for self-hosted WordPress.org.

You get basic SEO which is included default with the WordPress.com Personal plan.

And if you wish to use Jetpack plugin then you can move your site to WordPress.org software.
You can also check this if you have plans to move to WordPress.org

I was hoping that the basic SEO included with the Personal plan meant I could write my meta description and page title. I’m not particularly interested in the Jetpack plugin, but the list of benefits on WP for the Personal plan includes a Jetpack plugin that is supposed to have SEO. So I am confused — would I be able to do the meta and title with a personal wp.com plan or not? Thanks.

Can you please mention the URL of your website?

You can upgrade to Business Plan. (if your website is on WordPress.com

If your site is hosted using Self-hosted version of WordPress then you need to have Jetpack plugin with ”JetPack Profession plan”

You get free domain credit which you can be used to register for Custom Domain if you’re upgrading your account with any of the WordPress.com plans.

My url is below. I don’t want the expense of upgrading to the business plan. This is why I am asking about the benefits of upgrading to the personal plan and whether I can do the minor SEO I want to do that way.
