Unwanted subscribe box on my home page, and a $30 charge NOT to have ads.

    Two questions, must I have on my Home Page, in the right hand column, a “box” that says “subscribe with under it some 7 lines of text talking about weblog posts, RSS etc. How might I delete it.
    Then I see a message, after seeing an advertisement on my home page, that for a payment to you of $30 I can get rid of all advertisments from my home page. Is that you, or a virus speaking?

    That’s a default widget which displays when no widgets are selected. You can customize your widgets via Appearance -> Widgets in your blog’s Dashboard.
