I thought I was setting up a new site for tinymlbook.com, but realized that I’d actually added it as a non-primary domain for another site, petewarden.com.
I was hoping I could just set up a new site afterwards, since the nameservers are already pointing to wordpress.com (though it’s registered with Google domains), but at step 4 of creating the site I get the following error:
tinymlbook.com is already connected to this site, but registered somewhere else. Do you want to move it from your current domain provider to WordPress.com so you can manage the domain and the site together? Yes, transfer it to WordPress.com.
I don’t want to transfer it, but I’m unable to progress past https://wordpress.com/start/domains-with-preview/mapping, there don’t seem to be any other options.
Any help much appreciated, thanks!
The blog I need help with is petewarden.com.
Hi @petewarden, no worries; we can help you sort this out. I’ve unmapped the domain for you so it’s available for the other site.
You will need a plan for the new site, then you should be able to map the domain without transferring. But if it’s giving you any trouble, just let us know and we can map on our side.
Also, you’ll get fastest help here:
As you have a paid plan, you’re entitled to direct support, which you can reach there. Or you’re welcome to add the plan for the other site then reach out here. Cheers!
Great, thanks for your help!
