Twenty seventeen header image
-
Hi,
I like the 20/17 layout but the header function is really annoying.
1. The required crop operates to different dimension to what is shown so I crop an image as required and then is displays it with the bottom cut off.
2. My site is designed for the display of photographs but as the maximum image the header allows is 2000px wide it looks rubbish on my 27″ iMac at 5120 px wide.
Are there any fixes please or better themes to use if not?
Thanks

*Replace NAME_OF_BLOG in that URL with the actual name of your blog. wp-admin/themes.php
We have a preview function. No content is lost when switching themes on WordPress.COM hosted blogs. It does not matter if the site is private or public.

Thank you timethief. I will follow up what you suggest if a fix does not exist or the current theme.

@billallsopp: I wanted to add a couple of extra points here too. :)
Most themes that are designed for large custom headers, like Twenty Seventeen, will tread those headers as background images that get cropped to look good across all devices, regardless of size. Custom headers that work best in this type of theme are more flexible, decorative or abstract, so they can handle some sort of cropping.
If you have an image that you want to feature along the top of your site, and don’t want it to be cropped, I recommend browsing for a theme that supports the site logo feature. The site logo feature is meant for images like yours, that include important text or can’t tolerate cropping, You can filter for free themes that support that feature:

Hope that’s helpful!
