Trying to start new blog

    I’ve started to set up a new blog (considersunbeams.home.blog) but did so (I think) using my existing WordPress account, which seems to be inextricable from the business related blog of my partner. Neither of us want my new blog to be connected with the business. It seems anything I write will be attributed to him. I tried to re-attribute content to me, to delete him from the blog’s admin, and to change him from ‘admin’ to ‘contributer’ (not that he will be contributing). I get a message saying ‘There was an error removing @appletreemanuk’. And no changes can be saved.
    My only option seems to be to delete the new blog entirely and start again. I’d lose the domain but that’s all I think. But my account purely puts me back in the same position as a subsidiary of his wordpress blogs when I log in.
    I’ve got content to put on, but won’t do so until I’m sure its my own blog site and not anyone else’s. I’m feeling my way here without tech back-up and have little experience of this beyond actually writing content on my partner’s site – what am I doing wrong and how will be the best way to proceed?

    My only option seems to be to delete the new blog entirely and start again.

    If you’re able to log in as the site owner, you should be able to pass ownership over to your margaretqlear account. Here’s how:

    After a bit of a struggle ferreting out his log in details, I have indeed managed to transfer ownership of considersunbeams.home.blog to my account. Which was a great relief.
    So can I assume now I can get on with working out how to design and use the blog without it being connected to the business blogs and with content attributed to me (unless I invite other contributors)?

    Ah, nice work, Margaret. Yes, you can continue on now as though you created the site from this account. I can see there’s one other user on the site — did you mean to make them an administrator? The site creator is gone now, though, so they won’t publicly be associated with the site anymore at all.

    Thanks, I think I have it sussed now, and will work away on it now back from holiday. Yes, the other admin is my daughter, who knows a lot about wordpress but couldn’t sort out the problem of site ownership! She likes changing fonts as I never take much notice of whether it’s a good one or not, so will let her stay as admin…
