Trouble Changing NS with my current ISP

    Hi all, hoping someone may be able to point me in the right direction in relation to my domain name. I currently own the http://www.bolton-le-moorscarclub.co.uk name and was hoping to have the name servers at my current isp changed to point to the wordpress.com servers (NS1.wordpress.com etc). I sent a mail to my isp requesting this and they replied..Unfortunately, due to the very basic nature of the domain with ourselves, it wont allow us to redirect to wordpress in this way. Your probably best going with our sister company, Payasyouhost

    Is it possible to re-register my domain name with WordPress to allow me to continue using it (how?) or would it be easier and cheeper to register a new domain name with WordPress and use that?

    You might need a zone record added for bolton-le-moorscarclub.co.uk

    Check with your registrar (isp) to see if they got an error message when they tried to change the name servers

    I have flagged this for the staff to help and add a zone record for you

    the other option with your Registrar would be to transfer the domain name to a Registrar that lets you change the name servers

    Hi Ian,

    We’ve added a DNS Zone Record for your domain bolton-le-moorscarclub.co.uk, in case that helps your current domain registrar change the name servers to point to WordPress.com.

    If that isn’t possible, I’m afraid we can’t accept incoming domain transfers, so as auxclass mentioned you would need to transfer the domain name to a different registrar that will change let you change the name servers.     Hi Rachel, could you confirm if I could re register my domain http://www.bolton-le-moorscarclub.co.uk with WordPress and how I go about that process? If not I will re register with one that allows me to change the name servers.

    Hi Ian,

    You will need to register your domain bolton-le-moorscarclub.co.uk with a different domain registrar that allows you to change the name servers. We aren’t able to accept incoming domain transfers or register new domains that end in .co.uk, so you won’t be able to have your domain registered directly with us. (WordPress.com only supports registering domains with the extensions .com, .org, .net, .co or .me.)

    Once you have the domain registered at another domain registrar, you can follow this guide to map it to your WordPress.com blog: Map an Existing Domain
