Hello Mrs Lee Collver-Richards,
That actually depends on the situation and what plan you would like to go with.
1st question: What plan do you currently have with wordpress at the moment? I ask this because if you are paid member of wordpress this comes automatically with the a free domain for the year. So if this is the case I would go ahead and say leave the domain you already have at go daddy and trasnfer to wordpress.
If you are a free member but really want to keep the domain you already have then i reccomend using the same one from go daddy and just transferring it over.
You can complete this is two ways through Transfering your domain away from your current registrar.
Domain registration and billing will be moved from your current provider to WordPress.com
Manage your domain and site from your WordPress.com dashboard
Extends registration by one year Included in paid plans
This you can do here :
https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/
Or
By domain mapping which you can find out how to do here :
https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
Map your domain without moving it from your current registrar.
Domain registration and billing will remain at your current provider
Manage some domain settings at your current provider and some at WordPress.com
Requires changes to the domain’s DNS
Included in paid plans, but registration costs at your current provider still apply
Hopefully this gives you enough insight on which option is best for you.
Warmest greetings.
