  I see information about transferring a domain purchased through WordPress, but how do I transfer a domain I own that is currently hosted elsewhere to use through WordPress?

  WordPress.com does not currently accept incoming domain transfers. If you already own a domain, you can map it to your WordPress.com site using Domain Mapping:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain

  You will need an upgraded WordPress.com plan, such as the Personal plan. Each paid plan includes a free domain credit which you can use to map a domain you already own (or register a new one).

  Hi daveharkless,

  We don’t currently accept incoming domain transfers. In order to use a domain you already own on your WordPress.com, you will need to ‘map’ it with Domain Mapping:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain
