Transfering my old domain.
-
Hello,
A few years ago I had purchased nestdome.com from you with the intention of using WordPress for my main site, but finished by only using this address to forward to my main site. I see that http://www.nestdome.com is no longer available from my account, and I would like to know how I could retrieve this domain for my main site: http://www.nestimmersion.ca. Could you please let me know how this is possible?
Thank you!
Sean

That domain was never registered here.
It’s currently registered through https://whc.ca so if you need to recover it, you’ll have to get in touch with them.

Ok thanks. I find it strange because I thought I had registered it through wordpress. The landing page at http://www.nestdome.com redirects me to wordpress login.
-
The domain was attached to a site hosted here at WordPress.com: https://nestdome.wordpress.com/
But, the domain itself was never registered through WordPress.com.

Yes I’m the registered user of that wordpress site, but I don’t have access to the domain in my settings and it says its no longer available, and whc.ca is telling me I have to wait for it to expire. Any ideas?

I’m speaking with a tech support at WHC and yes, I am the registered owner of the site, but its pointing to WordPress, “Gabriel S.: Since the DNS zone is managed by WordPress, changes have to be from their side”
Can you explain how this is possible please?

The domain was never registered through us, so you won’t have any domain controls through us.
Your only option in this case is the current domain registrar: https://whc.ca/

Sorry, our replies crossed.
It looks like the domain’s name servers are pointed to us. If you want to manage DNS through us, you need to properly map the domain to us: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-existing-domain/
Alternatively, your current domain registrar can help you direct the name server back to them so you can manage DNS through them.
If you want to transfer the domain though, that absolutely must be done through the domain’s current registrar, not us.
