    Hi there,

I’m about to move from wordpress.com to a self-hosted wordpress.org site and worried about loosing my followers and stats. Is there a way I can transfer?

And will I be able to view my old one ?

The blog I need help with is: theweeklydiary.com

You can move your subscribers on your own, but you’ll need staff help to do the stats.

Here are the instructions for moving your subscribers on your own:

    http://jetpack.me/support/subscription-migration-tool/

If you’d rather have some help, first follow the steps in this support article: http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/moving-your-subscribers/#wordpress-com-to-self-hosted-site.

As for stats, they can also be moved, but staff have to take care of that. Once you have Jetpack installed on the new WordPress.ORG install, post the relevant URLs in this forum thread and then add the “modlook” tag n the column on the right.

It sounds like you haven’t actually moved your site yet, so do that first and then come back with the URL and tag the thread “modlook” when you are ready.

    Hi lizthefair,

Thank you so much for the response. So I have to move my site first, then go on with moving my stats and followers ?

I’m having a problem with installing the jetpack plugin as well or do I do that after moving my site too ?

I will move my site then come back here and post the relevant URLs. Thanks once again for your help.

Here are the steps for transferring your blog: http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#moving-to-wordpress-org. Since the jetpack plug-in goes on the new site and can’t be installed on the WordPress.COM site, I do think you’ll need to do that after you move the site.

Also note that this forum is only for supporting WordPress.COM sites. The transferring process makes the “who helps with what” questions a little confusing, but all the questions you have about setting up the new site, are best answered in the WordPress.org support forum. Here’s the link:

    http://wordpress.org/support/

Note that support forum is completely separate from this one so if you’ve never posted over there you’ll need to create a username and password–your sign on credentials from here won’t work over there.

Thank you for the info. I managed to get jetpack installed and followed the steps for transferring my subscribers. But I think this mainly work for my email subscribers. Is there a way to move my WordPress followers ?

    As for stats:

    My old blog : http://www.shmadee.wordpress.com

    Current blog : http://www.theweeklydiary.com

    Are those the URLs needed?

    Thank you.

That should do it. It’s the weekend, so it will probably be Monday at the earliest before you hear from a Happiness Engineer.

I’d like to assist you with this issue, but it looks like you have Jetpack connected to the following address:
    69.195.124.247/~theween5/

Please disconnect Jetpack and try connecting again so it is properly connected to your site at http://www.theweeklydiary.com, and then let me know.

If you need help with Jetpack, please see: http://jetpack.me/contact-support/

You cannot install Jetpack on WordPress.com. You will install it on your self-hosted site at http://www.theweeklydiary.com. Try https://www.theweeklydiary.com/wp-admin/plugins.php

Hi am needing the same help. I need to get stats from my .com site to my .org or self-hosted site. Please advise.

    #1968282

    Hi Morris,

First, can you confirm that the address for your self-hosted site is http://blocmag.com/? It looks like Jetpack may have been setup under a temporary URL. I’m happy to fix that for you. Just reply back to confirm.

Also, you would like the stats moved from blocmagworldwide.wordpress.com to blocmag.com. Is that correct?

Hi! I moved my site http://www.mamasinpjs.wordpress.com to a self-hosted wordpress.org site last night http://www.mamasinpjs.com and I am having trouble getting my stats and my subscribers to transfer. My wordpress followers transferred but I have over 500 email subscribers that did not transfer. Can you help me with that? Thanks in advance!

    Hi there,

    @mamasinpjs-

Your stats have been merged. I checked your subscribers and it looks like all your WordPress.com and email followers have been transferred. Please note that the over 500 followers you mentioned are not email/WordPress.com Followers. I see that you added the Facebook connection. The Follow Blog widget includes Facebook friends within that number of follower if you connect to your Facebook. Those followers cannot be transferred over.

Let me know if you have any questions with this!
