Transfer expired domain in WordPress.com to another domain register
-
Good afternoon,
We have found a big problem. We had a website hosted on a server (HostEurope), and the domain purchased in WordPress.com (with the modified DNS pointing to that server)
Our client has not paid the renewal of WordPress.com, and we have found that the domain now belongs to WordPress.com and we have no way to transfer or buy it again.
Is there any solution? Can we do anything? Buy it again on WordPress.com? Transfer it? (would be ideal) Why if a domain expires remains in WordPress.com?
Greetings.

What is the address of the domain so staff can check the exact status. If your client didn’t renew then they no longer own the domain and can’t transfer it unless they pay WordPress.com to recover it. Otherwise expired domains go through various stages over a period of two or three months until they may be released and available to be registered elsewhere or (more likely) are snapped up by a domain squatter.

Ouch!
Our client received an email yesterday and paid for the domain, and we have already solved it.Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi there.
I have a similar problem. I had my domain registered with WordPress and now I have it registered with another provider.
However, I keep getting reminders via email that I need to pay for the domain at WordPress. How do I make sure my website is transfered and I stop getting these reminders?
Thanks

Your domain is directed to a Wix site, but it is still registered with us.
That registration will expire on September 20, at which point this process will start: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/
If you do want to transfer it away from us, you’ll need to follow this guide: https://en.support.wordpress.com/move-domain/transfer-domain-registration/
