    you can keep the wordpress account and create a new wordpress.COM blog. If you wish to keep the current address and just delete the content to start over, it can only be done by wordpress staff.

    I’ll tag this thread with ‘modlook’ so the staff can look into.

    Thank you. I created an account several years ago. Yesterday I permanently deleted the few posts I made which I thought would delete me from thr system. I want to start from total scratch with a new username and password, but somehow all basic log in info still lingers and I can,t seem to change it, and I am totally confused now as to what email/username goes to what account and confused as to whether I even made the new second account. I just want to start from scratch. As if wordpress never knew I existed.

    If you’re logged in, head over to https://wordpress.com/stats/insights to check the blogs you’ve created and managed. You can have one account and manage multiple blogs.

    When you have multiple sites under one username account, you also have a single display name associated with all those sites.

    As you discovered, deleting your existing site does not remove your account. Accounts on WordPressdotcom cannot be deleted. However, you can follow the instructions in this Support document to lock down your account so you can walk away from it. https://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/

    Since all WordPressdotcom accounts also have a Gravatar account, you should also log in to Gravatar and hide your profile there http://en.gravatar.com/support/profile-privacy

    Another option is to change your existing username following these instructions: https://en.support.wordpress.com/change-your-username/#change-username Once you’ve done that you can change your current email and password in your account settings, as well as your display name if you choose.

    Another option is to register a new username/site using a different email address than the one you used for this account.

    Hope that helps.

    @elte just so you know

    If you wish to keep the current address and just delete the content to start over, it can only be done by wordpress staff.

    If the site owner only has a few posts, it’s probably faster if they remove their own content following these instructions: https://en.support.wordpress.com/empty-site/

    If there are hundreds of posts involved, then of course it is worthwhile involving Staff to empty the site.

    Hello pedalinguphill!

    I checked your account and found that you created a new blog. That was what you were trying to do? You can either add a new blog to your account or create a new account, with another email, like the suggestions posted above.
