  • Hi,

Will my first blog always appear on title page?

Only if you set the front page to display your latest posts. If the front page is set to display posts by default when the site is created, then it will display your posts, including your first post, last post, and all posts in between.

    I’ve lost my About button.

I don’t find an “About” page on the site. If you’re using the classic menu, then creating a new page on the Twenty Sixteen theme will create a menu item that links to the page. See the Create a new page section of the Pages support page. Alternatively, if your original “About” page has been sent to Trash, but is not yet deleted, then see the Restoring from Trash section of the Trash support page.

If you’ve replaced the classic menu with a custom menu, then you may create the menu item linking to the new “About” page, or any page, as described in the Additional menu items section of the Custom Menus support page.

  • How do I list all my categories on title page?

By “title page,” do you mean the front page? Where do you want to list the categories? They may be listed in a post, in a page, in the menu, or in a sidebar.

  • Correction:

    or in a sidebar.

Make that, “in a widget area.”

  • Hi @yougolfgirl!

Regarding your About page, it looks like you may have deleted everything on the site recently – I see you posted about starting over on another thread.

You can add another page as @musicdoc1 described, and include that item in your menu.

How do I list all my categories on title page?

If you’re hoping to include Categories to your menu, you can add them under My Site > Customize > Menus. You’ll want to publish some posts in the different categories first though :)

Let us know if any of these suggestions help – or if your running into trouble :)

  • Explain the concept of menus. You are dealing with a rank beginner here.

  • How do I list categories in a sidebar on the front page?

  • @yougolfgirl,

On most themes, a default menu appears in the header area on every page and post on the site. It will contain links only to static pages and, in most cases, to the homepage or front page. Since many themes have some default static pages, there may be two, three, or four menu items in the default menu at time of creation of the site. A site created with the Twenty Sixteen theme applied, as is the case on your site, and the front page displaying the latest posts will have two default static pages. Therefore, its default menu will include “About” and “Contact” items, linking to those pages, plus the “Home” item linking to the front page.

Custom menus are far more flexible. See the Custom Menus support page. They may include not only links to static pages, but links to all other content types (posts, category pages and other archives pages, projects, etc.) as well as valid external links. Due to its flexibility, a custom menu can be used in many different ways. For example, you might use it as a link index to the whole site, or for displaying quick links to the most important pages and posts. Some themes allow multiple custom menus to be displayed at the same time.

How do I list categories in a sidebar on the front page?

The simplest way would be to add a categories widget to the sidebar widget area. See the Categories Widget support page.

  • Hi,

I would like to know why when I post my article the tittle which is suppose to be above my article, is at the bottom of my Main Picture for my article?

    Please someone help me…

  • @helderaldgladys
Do not hijack threads other bloggers create as it causes confusion and can result in your request falling through the cracks. Click this Add New Topic link https://en.forums.wordpress.com/?new=1 and start your own thread please. Be sure to include the URL of the site you refer to when you do that.

  • Hi @helderaldgladys!

You may be seeing the formatting of your theme – check out Dyad 2‘s info page for more info :)

If you are still unsure, open a new thread as @timethief suggested. Be sure to include info about which post you are having trouble with. It is best if that post is published, otherwise form volunteers will not be able to see it to help :)

  • I have no idea what a thread is. I hate to be accused of hijacking!

  • @yougolfgirl,

A forum thread is another, perhaps better, name for what is generally called on WordPress.com a forum topic. You began this forum thread/topic, with the title “Title page,” and you may subscribe to it by clicking on the “Subscribe to topic” link in the right sidebar.

  • The reason I prefer the designation thread over topic is because topic also means subject. This leads to strange expressions such as the following:

    • The topic of this topic has been covered in several other topics.
    • Please see the following topics on that topic…
  • The topic ‘Title page’ is closed to new replies.
