Time Stamp

  • Hello and thank you.

I posted a reply in my “About” page. The time is stamped 10:21am when it should read 10:21pm. I click on the “Edit” link and I am able to change the hour and the date, which I needed to do, but an option to change the meridian does not exist.

I also changed the time zone to Los Angeles, but that still did nothing to fix the meridian. Please, could someone point me to how to fix the meridian in the “About” section? Thank you.

  • Hi gabriel76,

Could you check what your Time Format is under Settings > General? It should provide you with a couple of options including:

    • 10:21 pm
    • 10:21 PM
    • 22:21
    • Custom: 10:21 pm

You’ll probably need to change it back to one of the first two options to gain the ability to change the meridian.

  • Thanks for your reply, Valentine. The time format under General Settings is fine. I just don’t see an option to edit the meridian. Thank you.

  • Whoops, my mistake. It seems like you’re supposed to use the 24-hour clock for your post time.

Here’s a support document that shows you how to schedule a post:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/schedule-a-post/

To schedule a post in the PM, you will need to use the 24-hour clock. For example, 1:00 PM would read as 13:00 in the Schedule a Post module.

I guess you’ll have to use 22:21 for your posts to get around this!

  • It seems like the OP is talking about the timestamp in a comment, not a scheduled post.

It’s not enough to set the time format. You need to set your site’s timezone. http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/general-settings/#timezone

But looking at the screencast, it seems you’ve set it correctly (and of course you saved your new settings, yes?).
