"This topic has been closed to new replies." Forum glitch?
-
This is about the forum itself.
In the Translations Forum, I recently submitted a New Topic for a request of validation for translations I did in Japanese.
After submitting, I was taken to the following page:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/japanese-validation?replies=0
Points in question:
– The message I wrote in the form can’t be seen. I am assuming it’s because it wasn’t sent/received properly? Or is it waiting moderator approval (if that’s what’s supposed to happen when topics are immediately closed after being submitted)
– In the “About this Topic” section, it displays the following “Started 47 years ago by Anonymous”.Any insight on this would be great, thanks!

Hi there,
That thread was marked as spam, as you’d only posted a bunch of links.
Aside from the fact that validation is done by volunteers, just like translations, and don’t happen on-demand based on a forum post, you linked to entire projects, not specific translations. The WordPress.com project has 21,000 translatable strings. You’re much more likely to get help if you link to the specific strings you translated or need help with.
Please read the instructions at https://translate.wordpress.com/getting-started-with-wordpress-com-translation/ regarding validation.

Hi @kokkieh & @justjennifer,
Thanks for letting me know about that. I’ll be sure to post links to my specific translations next time & perhaps with a little more context to go with it.
Cheers!

@justjennifer, that subdomains should be whitelisted already, but I think the post containing almost only links with no additional text/context is what triggered the filter.
