theme request: mandigo
I would like it if the mandigo theme could be added (http://www.onehertz.com/portfolio/wordpress/mandigo/). Thanks!
Have you sent a feedback into staff including the link to the theme and the reasons you would like to see it introduced? That’s the process to use. The feedback button is on the top right hand corner of every admin side blog page.
FWIW, does anyone know how Automattic/WP.com staff determine if a different theme is “worthy” to be applied to WP.com? I mean, its gotta be more than just whether or not it can easily crunch under a WP-MU environment, right?
(for my $0.02, I’d like to suggest “Redoable” by http://www.deanjrobinson.com/wordpress/redoable – styled on a K2 concept, and easily adaptable for different colours – , but would like to know if I’d just be wasting their time by sending the request..)
No we do not know how these decisions are made or who exactly makes them nor do we have any idea what criteria are “key” to inclusion of any theme. What we do know is that staff say that sending in a request is the way to go and that they will give all requests due consideration.
That being said, there is a lengthy line-up of theme requests preceding your own, and not the least among them is a legion of women who responded to Matt’s post soliciting “girly” theme suggestions that dates back to April. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=10166
I imagine the majority of their feedback comes from users begging for their favourite theme without thinking of how it can be integrated, and at what cost, etc etc…
Bloggers have no knowledge of the workings of the Automattic corporation or the wordpress.com project when it comes to theme integration or anything else. The bottom line is: nothing ventured – nothing gained.
Actually Mark was the one who added the “The reasons why you thought it was a good idea to add in this theme” bit.

It depends whether Matt likes it or not. Matt is fond of: blue, green, grey, rounded corners, big headers, gradients, and oversized sans-serif fonts. Matt is not so big on: red, brown, pink, light text on a dark background, originality, flowers.
On this basis, Mandigo is in with a shot. Just don’t expect anything till WordCamp is over.
