I purchased a Domain and Hosting through Dotster. I chose WordPress for my website on Dotster and then purchased a theme for said website. Upon installing the new theme, none of the plugins will install. I consulted with Dotster and they claim the theme needs a version of cURL they have not upgraded to…and the theme developer says their theme doesn’t rely on cURL and it is the Hosting providors problem for not being WordPress compliant. All I want is for my new theme to work….any ideas?

I believe you have a self-hosted WordPress.org site and not a WordPress.com hosted site.
