the "exclude" feature in the PAGES widget
-
If I understand correctly – the “exclude” feature is NOT supposed to show a certain page ?
I wanted to not display the “about” page on the left side bar – PAGES widget section on the top
Thankyou
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The widget visiblity feature available on each widget allows you to hide a specific widget when certain conditions are met, or alternatively to show it under certain conditions.
If you’d like to hide your “Pages” widget in the left sidebar on the About page, these are the settings you’d need on that widget:
Show > If Page > Is About

I tried this
but nothing is coming up – the widget itself doesnt showI dont want the “about” to be seen please

That’s what widget visibility does – it shows or hides the entire widget depending what conditions you set.
Looks like I might have misunderstood what you’re trying to do.

If you’re trying to keep the widget on the About page but not include the About page menu item in the widget when visiting the About page, here’s how you can do that:
– Create two Custom Menu widgets, one with the About page and one without
– On the widget with the About page, use widget visibility to Hide > If Page > Is About
– On the widget without the About page, use widget visibility to Show > If Page > Is AboutLet me know if this accomplishes what you’re after.

I think we are on different pages again
Let me ask in a different way.
I am referring to the left sidebar widget. I have selected “pages” in the left sidebar widget.
In the pages – all of the pages are showing – about, indian journals and eco fabric store
So I want the indian journals and eco fabric store to be seen. however i dont want the “about” to be seen
so is that possible ?

Yep, I understand. There isn’t a way to hide just one menu item on one page without custom CSS.
The workaround is to do as I described earlier: create two different menu widgets (one with the “About” page and one without) and apply different widget visibility conditions to each of them them.
Would you like to give it a try? Just let me know if you get stuck at any step.
