Text body too wide for page, and so gets cut off by sidebar
-
Hi,
I’m posting regarding heathlander.wordpress.com .
The width of my text (posts, comments, etc.) is too wide, and so the edge gets cut off by the sidebar.
When looking at posts or at the front page, its not too bad, because only the ‘Comments (n)’ link is cut short. But if you try to read comments, it cuts off qite badly.
Is there any way of adjusting the margins to prevent this?
Many thanks,
Jamie.

That’s weird – no-one else’s is like that.
OH, maybe it has something to do with me importing my old comments in from Blogger?Anyway,
thanks for replying.

Looks fine to me using IE 6.0.2900.2180. Maybe if you tell us what browser you are using, what resolution you have your monitor set at, where specifically you are having the problem, etc., we might be able to assist you.

Oh, sorry. You’re right, it is fine. I was looking at it from heathlander.co.uk, the domain I forwarded it to. It must be a problem with them.
Really sorry for wasting your time – I didn’t realise.

AAHH – ignore *that* reply.
I’ve looked again and there IS a problem, for example on this page:
http://heathlander.wordpress.com/2006/05/02/news-shite/#commentsThe words get cut off.
My browser is version 6.0.2900.2180 – same as yours.
My resolution is 1024x 768.
Thanks.

Oh, I just found out something else.
When I click the link above, it open a page but not full screen. There is no problem.
But when ‘maximise’ it so it fills the whole screen, THEN the problem of words getting cut off happens.

I see the problem. That’s probably a bug with the theme. Please send in a feedback from your dashboard so that they can create a ticket on it.
Do note that you’re only losing about a half of a character.
This is one of the reasons why I do not like layouts based solely on CSS. :)

OK, I’ll send in the feedback form.
“Do note that you’re only losing about a half of a character.”
Yeah, I know, but it kinda makes it look amateurish (plus on the main page, it means you can’t see how many comments a post has recieved, since the number is obscured).
Thanks for helping.

Waiting, what browser and OS are you using? (I seem to have said that to you a few times lately. :)

The feedback guy (I forget his name) said he thinks it’s to do with the ‘Contact Us’ text widget in the sidebar. He to make it so it isn’t written completely in capitals.
However, for some reason, it appears in capitals whether I write it capitalised or not. Weeeeird.
