Temporarily stopping email notifications to subscribers?
-
Hello! I’m wondering if there is any way to temporarily stop email notifications to subscribers when I make a post? I run a completely stock free .com wordpress blog (aside from a purchased domain name). I don’t want to shut the feature off completely (and I’m positive I can’t really do that in .com) and I’m not going to pay money solely to turn this off for one or two posts, but is there some work-around to making a particular post not trip the email feature when I post it?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Have you tried going to the Jetpack page on your admin page, click learn more on the “subscriptions” and then click deactivate. It’ll keep all your subscribers, just won’t email them then. Then reactive after that blog post is up.
Let me know if that works.

JetPack is for WordPress.ORG sites, the functions of JetPack are built into all WordPress.COM blogs, but you don’t have access to any of the settings – the advice you were given is completely in error
I think if you set your site to “Private” it turns off the send email but I can’t remember for sure. Then set the site back to Public after publishing a Post. Easy to test if you subscribe to your own site by email and make a test Post –
Or maybe someone has been through the steps and will pitch in here
