tags and categories are difficult to find!

  • Many times when I create a new post, I am unable to see or find my tags and categories. If I get lucky and happen to use the “new” method to create posts (and I’m never quite sure how I got there), the tags and categories are readily available. What is the difference, and why are there different ways to create posts? I have trouble finding my dashboard as well. Things keep changing!

  • Hi!

There are currently two interfaces for creating new posts:

    1. http://wordpress.com/post, which is the newer interface

On the new interface, you should see the tags and categories on the sidebar here:

    http://d.pr/i/BAGI

    2. https://rootsrambler.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=300&action=edit, which is an example of our classical interface (commonly referred to as wp-admin)

On the classic interface, you can find the tags and categories shown here:

    http://d.pr/i/1aDjw

It might require a bit of scrolling to see them.

Either posting interface should work. It’s really a matter of personal preference. We’re trying to improve the new interface to a point that it’s a much superior experience to the classical one.

Can you give those links a try and let me know if that clears up some of the confusion?
