tag/category problems after importing edited export WP file

Add topic to favorites
My posts end with “Entry filed under:” to linked tags whereas I want categories.

I’m using the Blix theme.

I populated a new blog with about 900 posts by creating a WordPress import file. I’d forgotten to encode the off-site URLsso I created an export file so I could fix the URLs. I then deleted all my blog pages, posts and comments and imported the fixed file.

The pages, posts and comments were reinstated reappeared. However, whereas (I thought that) where posts previously ended with categories linked to searches on my blog (e.g., http://beadback.paolability.com/category/categoryearrings/), they now end with tag links to WordPress.com searches (e.g., http://wordpress.com/tag/categoryearrings/).

According to Manage -> Tags, I don’t have any tags. And if I edit a post that ends with automatic tag links, no tags are defined, just categories.

Do Blix theme posts always end with tag links or did something happen in my import/delete/export?

If you are clicking on the links beneath or above the post, those links take you to the wordpress.com global tags pages (both categories and tags are treated the same on those pages).

If you click on a category in the sidebar widget, then you are taken to your local pages (on your blog) that show only the posts in your blog with that category.

Bah. This is what I feared. I shall try to hide them in the CSS.
