Support has not responded on my request to cancel domain

I contacted support last week and asked that they cancel my domain which I purchased from WordPress. I requested the cancellation the same day I bought the domain name. I am new to WordPress.com and did not realize until after I purchased the domain name weddingbridalboutique.com that I could not host it on wordpress.com but would have to go to wordpress.org.. I still have not heard anything back from support.
Why is it taking so long to respond to my request? I would like to have the domain name canceled and my money refunded.

Make sure and check your ISP spam filter. WordPress emails sometimes get caught there.
I’ve tagged this for staff attention and hopefully they will see it, but if you contacted them on the same day, there should not be an issue with the refund I would think.

PS: You can register a name with WordPress.COM and use the Domain for a .ORG site. Just change where the name-servers point.

Auxclass is right, and if you cancel the domain name here and then try and register it elsewhere it might be up to two weeks before the name is released for re-registration.
