Stats: Tags & Categories

I usually have several categories listed on each post. Do the Tags & Categories totals on the stats page count all categories on each post, or only the first one?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
To search engines and here at WordPress.COM too categories and tags are one in the same thing. The maximum combined total of 15 categories and tags per posts is required for display on the categories and tags pages and in the Reader. All reasons for non-appearance of posts on Topics pages can be found here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/topics/#missing-posts
If you have assigned a combined total that exceeds 15 Categories/Tags to your posts, you need to edit and delete. http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/edit-posts-screen/ After removal of the excess categories and/or tags note it may take several days for your posts to begin displaying there.

re: stats pages I don’t have an answer and as Staff have posted this https://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ and requested Volunteers tell bloggers to use the live chat feature on the bottom right hand corner of their Admin page, that’s what I’m asking you to do please.

Hi again,
We know each other well and I have reached the shoot from the lip phase now … lol :DLive chat may pacify cell phones addicts and there are legions of them, many who appear to be yourful types who are unable to comprehend written instructions or just folks who are to insecure to cope with, but providing live chat does nothing in terms of enhancing the free resources we have when doing tag searches of support forum threads.
Will you please be kind enough to post here again and copy and paste the answer your receive into this thread, so we know what it is the next time this question is asked here?

I have a question. Why is my day visitor count 17 and my view count 122 and I only have 4 or 5 pages. It doesn’t add up.
-
To be honest, I went looking and couldn’t find a live chat box. And considering the volume of questions that come to the forums and the (small) number of WordPress employees, I can’t imagine they could support live chat. Unless of course it’s not really “live,” it’s just an infuriating computer response to key words in the questions. Those insult my intelligence. “Live” implies a real person, but it usually isn’t.
-
Again, never found a live chat box. Several other windows/questions eventually entered my question as a new one on the forums, which is what I did originally. So … circular nonsense.

The live chat is only available during hours Staff are available. Which ones are those? Who knows for sure? I don’t.
And please do not tempt me to comment on these announcements:
The e-mail support form is currently closed. Instead of getting help here, you can get direct staff support via live chat. Any time the “Howdy, how can I help” message appears in the bottom right corner of the screen, a Happiness Engineer will be available to help you instantly.
E-mail support will reopen on Monday, April 20th.
If I comment I may be suspended and that would mean that many bloggers waiting for support would have to wait a hell of a lot longer and take their chances when it comes to get correct answers. So what I did was tag https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/how-are-tags-on-a-post-counted?replies=1#post-2352890 with modlook for Staff support. Please subscribe to that thread, okay?

I subscribed to the thread. I remember now I did have one experience with that live chat thing a while back but I don’t recall what the issue was. I think it was just a discussion of why I didn’t like one of the new adm. pages. Very courteous. I just don’t see how they’ll be able to keep up with all the traffic that comes into these forums.

If a post has both the categories “Culture” and “History”, when I view that post it will add one pageview to both the “Culture” and “History” totals in your “Tags and Categories” stats, but only one pageview to your total pageviews.

The Live Chat support is all real people. Last week we experimented with putting other support teams (like the forums team, myself included) into live chat for greater coverage, so other channels had less staffing than usual during that time.
When the live chat box does appear, it’s a blue rectangle in the bottom right of your screen. The box only appears when staffing is available to ensure you reach a real person when you do have the option to click it. So the number of staff available and the number of users currently chatting are constantly changing whether the box shows up for your site or not.

Each visitor can have multiple views, so if they cycle through your 4 or 5 pages a couple times, the views will continue to add up.
