What does the word standard mean behind a post in the wordpress dashboard?

Some themes have “post types” that you can assign to posts such as “standard,” “aside,” and “gallery.” On those themes, it will identify which post type was assigned to the post. “Standard” is the default.

Also, on “theme” questions since you are using one of the premium themes, you need to go to appearance > themes in your dashboard, and there is a link there for the premium theme support page. Staff and the theme designers “man” that forum and will answer your theme related questions. Since none of the volunteers here have access to, nor any experience with the premium themes, we cannot help with them.

@staff-blorbo, thanks for including that. I searched for “post types” and did not find anything. I’ll have to try and remember “post formats” as the search term.

I remember that we were throwing around different wording for Post Formats/Types for a while, but can’t remember when we settled on Post Formats.

I’ll see if there’s a way that I can somehow incorporate “post types” into that article to make searching easier.

I’m not sure if you guys set keywords or tags or anything for the support documents, but if you do, then you could add post types as a tag or keyword.

That was easier that I thought. :)

Just a quick word change in the middle of the document, and it should show up when you search for post type, once it’s re-indexed of course.

We do use tags, but we use them for organizational purposes, so it’s always better to find a way to include the keywords in the article.

Ah. For some reason I was being too literal in interpreting what the OP was asking. Yessiree, quite a day here…
