  The social media widget does not include tumblr. Can I add that myself somehow? Right now I have a separate page set up where people can connect with me but I want it added to the sidebar.

  The Social Media widget https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/social-media-icons-widget/ is limited to the services you find there, but you can also roll your own social media in a text widget. More here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/add-social-media-buttons-to-your-sidebar-or-footer/

  It looks like you already have something similar set up on your about page. All you’d need to do is switch to the Text tab of the page editor and copy the code you find there and paste that in the Text widget.
