sidebar bug? sidebar slips down the page – Help!
-
I have been checking my blog for a good few days now from a number of internet cafes, until I get internet again at home. The sidebar always seems to appear way down, below the last entry on the main column. Is this a bug? Can I fix this? Is it linked to the computers I am using – first thought this but now less sure. Bad timing as I need it working properly at the moment while we are busy with lots of projects. Hope you can help.
Thanks,

Please take a look at the following FAQ article to remedy the situation –

I think the image at the top of the sidebars on all three is too wide for that particular theme. Try making the image a little smaller and see if that fixes it.
-
Right now it is 222 x 117. Resize it down to 180 x whatever and I think you will be fine.

Thanks – I’ll try everything out. The computer I am sitting on now seems to show everything fine, making a test a bit pointless. I’ll wait until I experience the problem again on another computer. Why is this not universal? – on some computers the sidebar works and on others it doesn’t.

I have been pasting from word which may be the cause of the problem. Is there a quick way to loose the extra code – ie the clear formatting button, etc – or do I have to sift through and take out each bit to clean things up.

You highlight all the text, and on the Advanced Toolbar click the little broom icon. In the HTML editor, I think it’s called Close Tags.

Actually, the little broom icon is gone, has been since the last big upgrade. You need to use the “close tags” link in the HTML editor now.
