    The entire Sidebar disappears!!

Landing at the bottom of the blog site.

    Several days now.

Cannot add VodPod or any html widget (removed them yesterday).

[will mention, that I have done Forced Refresh + Cleared Cache, several times, just in case asked to do so].

    Has just occured again!!!

    Help !!!

    Thank You.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Just tested in IE 8.0

    and sidebard disappears!

  • It’s a very common problem. Look through the threads in here and see if one of these isn’t the issue with your blog:

  • I just tested in IE8 and the sidebar is where it should be there is a huge amount of blank space below the last post on that page.

Go to settings > writing and select “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” and click save changes.

Then open each post on your main page, make one minor change (such as adding a space and then deleting it) and then click “update post.”

  • Thank you very much, raincoaster, and thesacredpath

I shall away and do as you so kindly suggest, and report back.

  • Re: “I just tested in IE8 and the sidebar is where it should be”

Yes, but, the problem is when one hovers over the Sidebar …. and then the Sidebar Disappears!!

  • Give this a try. Go to appearance > extras and disable M-shots if you have it enabled and then view the page (forced refresh). If that does not work do as I suggest above. There are a couple things on the XHTML validation report that might cause this issue and the procedure I outlined should fix it if those are the problems.

  • I switched my test blog to the theme you are using and do not see this issue, so I think it is something in one of the posts.

  • Oh, thank you so much, the sacredpath

I have just completed the task of ….

“Go to settings > writing and select “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” and click save changes.

Then open each post on your main page, make one minor change (such as adding a space and then deleting it) and then click “update post.”

    And, it worked!

    Wonderful :-)

    Many thanks.
