shortcode to display categories and tags
-
I’m trying to construct an archive on a static page. I had one on a self-hosted site years ago, wondering if this is possible in the hosted version with the theme I’ve got or another theme.
I was hoping to find a shortcode that would display a list of:
The categories in my blog
The tags in my blog (not in cloud form)Not a list of posts, a list of categories and tags that would allow clicking on them like a footer category or tag cloud widget.
I’d also love a shortcode that would put a search field on a static page.
Do these things exist? Possible with CSS and/or HTML?
Thanks,
Richard
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hey there,
I am sorry, but none of these requests is available via shortcode on a static page.
You can certainly add widgets to side bars will ONLY appear on an Archives page. I know that’s not what you were hoping, but it is a possible work-around, if you wanted to get creative.
Here is a link with steps to configure Widget Visibility:

Thanks so much!

Thanks for getting back to me on this.
Given the “archives” shortcode I’m wondering why there aren’t more that do more archives-related things? Seems like something you’d want to add.
Thanks
