Search contents of Pages

    Hi,
    I’d like to use the search box to search contents of pages (as opposed to posts).
    Is that possible?

    That requires a plug in as it’s not a standard feature of WordPress. Pages were set up to be seperate from the post system.

    Pages at wordpress.com sit outside the blog structure and are intended for static content. Pages cannot be assigned categories and pages have no google juice. Our search boxes on our blogs do not search content on Pages.

    The plugin drmike refers to will not work on this shared wordpress.com multi-user blogging platform wp-MU. It is coded to run on different software. Software from wordpress.org.

    If you want to see the search function on our blogs here at wordpress.com search Page content then please send in a feedback to staff with this suggestion including your reasons for making the request.

    Please note that as TT says, plugins are not usable here at wp.com. They are designed for use with regular wordpress hosted elsewhere.

    I vote for something that allows me to search at my pages besides the posts. i gatered so much info, on pages wich of i can’t find it because the search engine don’t do that job. So i have to remenber all info i put it on pages. Last night i was so sure i’ve made i post about something, that i went mad for 5 minutes trying to find what i was sure have written. Later i remenber that might have been on some page… and voilá. But the timming for that info as past… so o think it’s urgent to have a search engine on the main page that runs it’s search trought all the content of your blog, just in case you need to pull up some urget info. I’m a radio dj and i know what i mean by urgent.
