Reset password link invalid

    Members click on lost password, enter username and click on get new password. A link is sent to their email and when they click on the link they get the message ‘Your password reset link appears to be invalid. Please request a new link below.’ How can the link be fixed?

    Hello,

    Looks like this is a self hosted website! For his you would have to got to the WordPress.org support forum and not the WordPress.com forum which are two completely different sites.

    Yes this is self hosting site. I will contact Worpress.org but the username I thought it was does not work. How do I find out what my username is?

    Your best bet will be to go to sign in page and press the link forgot username and password. Use your email to set a new password etc.

    There is no forgot username link just forgot password link. The email austintxgensoc.org does not work as username so I do not know the username.

    What I am wanting to do is to login to wordpress.org and go to there support page to get help on the reset password link invalid problem. The username I put in does not work. Is there a phone number or contact for wordpress.org so I can get the correct username?

    I have discovered the problem but do not know how to fix it. If a member user name has a space in it for example my username is Jean Marostica with a space between my first name and my last name. When I click on reset password the link I get in the email does not have my last name. I stops with Jean so without the last name it give an invalid error. If I copy and paste the whole link with my last name it lets me reset my password. How can I get the link to accept the last name so we can have our members reset their passwords?

    Hi there,

    Your WordPress.com username will not allow you to log into WordPress.org, nor will the admin username for your site.

    If you’ve never posted in the WordPress.org forums before you first need to register an account there before you will be able to.

    I am not talking about WordPress.com username. I am talking about our members from AGS wanting to change their passwords on our website to gain access into our website.
    So you are saying that you can’t help me here that I need to go to the WordPress.org forum to post my issue?

    Correct, since this is in regards to a self-hosted site, the WordPress.org forums are better suited to assist with your issue:

    http://wordpress.org/support/forums

    And as @kokkieh mentioned, you’ll need to create a new account there if you have never posted in those forums.
