Removing the initial administrator

Our blog was begun by one person but it now has three administrators. Is it possible for the initial administrator edit their user role, or even to remove themselves altogether from the blog, without that upsetting the rest of the blog?

We are scared of doing this in case it upsets things.

I think they can edit their roll down from Admin but if they want to leave the blog I think they need to transfer ownership to another account (all blogs need to have an owner account)

Is that person no longer active?

    To transfer a blog

Please note – once the account doing the transferring clicks on the link in the email they will have NO access to that blog unless the new owner invites them back in

When I try to go to ‘my blogs” from the dashboard button on the left, My screen does not look like the screen shot in the tutorial and I have no option to transfer the blog. Help!
