Removing posts

    I want to remove all the posts on my blog and start afresh but how would that affect the search engines? Would it be too confusing for search engines for me to do this? Should I just set up a different blog? I want to change the whole topic of the blog as it has veered away from what I originally wanted.

    Hi @paxprobono, it depends on whether you care about current search engine links. If you do, I’d recommend just starting a new site rather than deleting everything.

    If you don’t want search engines (or humans) to be able to find your old content at all, you’ll be okay. People will just get 404 errors for a while, and the new site might not rank as well for a bit.

    I did already start deleting some posts to try and get it back to the correct theme, but I think I might just leave it at that now and start afresh with a new blog. Thank you
