removing myself as an admin on a site

I am an admin on other sites but I would like to remove myself as the sites are defunct and no longer being used. If I try and delete my user status, it will not allow me to. Is there a way someone can remove me from a dead site?

Did you register these sites under your username account(s)?
What are the URLs of the sites?

Hi there,
Also, if you are the owner of any of these sites, you will need to transfer ownership of the blog over to another admin, which will automatically remove them as a user of the site.
