Remove the Categories field under each post

    Hi, I am very new to blogging. I like using the Tags and Tag Cloud. I do not want to use Categories. I don’t like how under each post it says Categories: Uncategorized. Is there any way to remove the categories field under each post on my blog. Thank you very much.

    The blog I need help with is

    This will hide it.

    .post-category {
    display: none;

    Thank you very much. When I said I was new… I mean really new. I don’t know exactly where/how to put that into my blog. Would you mind helping a little further?

    Have you purchased the annually renewable CSS editing upgrade or not? If you are considering purchasing the upgrade, you can go to Appearance > Edit CSS. There wordpress has provided a preview function where you can try before you buy.

    If you did purchase the upgrade be sure to read this article before starting your editing >

    If you are very new to blogging an easier way would be to choose a theme that enables you to hide categories.
    But I am afraid the only theme that does so is inove.

    hi there… I tried this on my own blog & it didnt work.

    Do you have the CSS editing upgrade or not? If so then please note that CSS editing at is theme specific and you are using the Modularity Lite theme. The member who posted this thread is using the Spectrum theme.

    1. You have way too many posts showing on your main page, and with it being image heavy, it takes forever to load on my wireless internet connection. Go to settings > reading and decrease the number of posts to show on a page to something like 3 or 5 at maximum.

    2. As Timethief says, CSS is theme specific which means what works for one is highly unlikely to be the solution for another.

    3. With modularity lite, the stuff below the posts is an all or nothing proposition since all of the elements are under one single selector in the CSS. The theme designer did not separate them out. That means hiding one hides them all, including the date and the leave a comment link. The following hides them all.

    .postmetadata {display:none; }

    G’day to you. :)

    Thank you so much for the tips! But I actually have it set to 4 posts already. Should I make it 3? 2? 1?

    The rest makes perfect sense. I usually just google my problem and click on whatever post comes up regardless of the theme. From now on I’ll search with my theme name too. I don’t want to hide “leave a comment,” which is part of postmetadata, so I suppose I’m stuck displaying categories and tags!

    The number of images is the real issue, but I see you have it set at 2 now, and that loaded reasonably quickly for me. You seem to be optimizing your images well, so keeping it to 2 posts should be fine.

    Great, I really appreciate the feedback!

    It’s been a long road, learning basic CSS so I can customize this blog to our needs. I’m still not totally satisfied but it’s getting there!

    Yeah, CSS takes a while, but there is that sense of accomplishment when you finally get it to where you want it to be.

    It looks good.

    It works with Mystique theme?

    This thread is for the Modularity Lite theme. All CSS editing is themes specific. If you have the CSS upgrade then please post a new theme specific thread using this link >
