Remove myself as an author

I was invited to be the author of a blog and now I don’t want to be the author of this blog anymore. How do I remove myself from being an author?
Also, there isn’t any way at all to delete my account? :(

You can remove yourself as the author by logging into the blog you wish to leave, then go to Dashboard>My Blogs. Hover your mouse over the blog URL and click on the “leave blog” link. Please take a look:http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/#leave-a-blog
Also, there isn’t any way at all to delete my account? :(
Free hosted WordPress.com account addresses cannot be deleted; only the site content can be deleted, and your access to the address will be gone forever. Once an account is deleted, you can never get it back.
Addresses (URLs) for blogs that have been deleted by the owner will remain deleted. We cannot, under any circumstances, allow someone to take over the address of a blog that was previously owned and deleted by its original/previous owner. Please do not submit support requests asking us to do this.

There are other options. You can empty your site of all content (to keep your address) and change your privacy settings to make your blog private. To empty your site content:
To make your site private go to > Settings > Reading, then scroll to Blog Visibility and choose option 3. For your reference:
