You guys automatically charged me $26 dollars for a website I haven’t used in over a year! I never got the email to cancel this and I’m pretty mad because I don’t even use this website. I am trying to save money on top of this and I want a refund of the $26 dollars you charged me. Thanks

The blog I need help with is

Did you cancel the upgrade and disable auto renew last year?

re: Refunds provides a 30-day refund on all upgrades except Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers. The refund period for Domain Registrations and Renewals is 48 hours. It takes from 1 – 2 weeks or 7 – 10 business days for the refund to be received.

    re: Canceling upgrades
Every WordPress.COM blog has a sole owner. It is the person with the WordPress.COM username account who registered the blog under that username account and a single associated email address, and who is the original Admin of the blogs registered under that username account.

You have to be logged in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard, cancel any upgrades, claim a refund for any qualified upgrades, and disable auto-renew. Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades. You can also disable auto-renew there.

    1. What is the domain URL?
    2. What is the underlying URL?
    3. Exactly which username account registered the underlying blog and purchased the upgrade for it?
    4. When was the upgrade purchased?
    5. When did the refund request and upgrade cancellation, or the domain expiration take place?

    Hi there,

You guys automatically charged me $26 dollars for a website I haven’t used in over a year!

I checked your account and you were charged for the domain because the purchase was set to auto renew.

Your account is showing you have disputed the payment; which issued a chargeback against us. Chargebacks are not intended as a means of obtaining a refund or cancelling a billing agreement or subscription.

If you do that, all upgrades on your account are removed and your site is locked until you pay a chargeback fee or cancel the chargeback.

If the dispute was made in error, please try to cancel it with PayPal. Until it is cancelled, there is nothing we can do from our side. Once the chargeback has been cancelled we will be able to issue a refund for the amount.

Please also read this support page for more information about chargebacks:
