Redirecting my wordpress blog to my personal domain?

  • Hi everybody –
Just curious if anyone can tell me how to redirect my blog so it shows up on the domain i just purchased. As an example – I have a blog at: http://myblog.wordpress.com and would like to have the blog content and its design (template) appear on http://mypersonaldomain.com.

Is that possible? If so, how do I do that?

    Thanks a ton in advance!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Thanks Dave…
I am assuming that there is a charge for doing this? It was noted in a question under Domain Mapping that:

“Domain mapping costs 9.97 credits ($9.97) per year, per domain.

If you buy both mapping and domain registration at the same time, the total cost is 14.97 credits ($14.97) per year, per domain. You won’t be able to pay for the upgrade until the domain’s nameservers have been changed and verified.”

Though later in the information, it says that if you own another domain and want to map your wordpress blog to that domain you just have to update the DNS to the wordpress nameservers.

Is it just a matter of changing the nameservers, or, do I need to pay to do this?

Sorry for the questions – just new to this.

    Thanks…

  • I decided to take the easy route and purchased my domain through WordPress, so I can’t help any further.
