Redirected permalinks have the word "/tag/" in the middle so they don't work

    A few months ago, when I was new to WordPress blogging and new to SEO and keywords, I thought that if I wanted to change the title of a post I also had to change the Permalink. Wrong! I ended up making several changes to Permalinks and caused a huge mess. I was able to fix a few but am left with the following problems – all related to redirected permalinks:

    1. . The word “/tag/” appears in a link and the post cannot be accessed
    adelegould.com/tag/apartheid-in-south-africa – it should be
    adelegould.com/apartheid-in-south-africa
    In my redirect i did not use the word ‘tag’. how do I get rid of it?

    2. Two of my redirected permalinks still come up with the old link (which doesn’t work). If I do a google search:

    (a) ” living with Parkinsons disease” (which is my keyword phrase) the previous permalink comes up – adelegould.com/ftag/inding-joy-while-living-with-parkinsons-disease instead of
    adelegould.com/living-with-parkinsons-disease

    (b) “computer addiction” ( keyword phrase) comes up with adelegould.com/tag/helpful-tips-to-cure-an-addiction instead of adelegould.com/computer-addictin

    3. Also, because I change the Permalinks so many times, I have all kinds of incorrect permalinks appearing when I do a Google search (they don’t work but they pop up)
    Is there a way to get rid of them?

    I have learned a lot from making thee awful mistakes. I will certainly never do it again! I will make sure that I use the correct title, keyword and Permalink before I publish anything!

    I’m sorry to hear that you’ve having these troubles with your permalinks! I took a look at your site and while you do have a blog here with us, the domain adelegould.com actually resolves to a self-hosted WordPress.org blog rather than a WordPress.com site. Unfortunately there’s not much which I’ll be able to help out with.
