  I want to redirect a whole free WordPress.com adress towards another domainname. Preferably for free.

  Like redirecting this WordPress adress:

  http://www.name_of_site.wordpress.com

  To this adress:

  http://www.new_site.com

  I couldn’t find which version of WordPress it was.

  Hi there,

  What exactly are you trying to do?

  Do you want your WordPress.com site to appear if someone goes to your domain? If so, you need to purchase a plan under My Site ->Plans, and then you can add the domain mapping upgrade to your site to connect the domain.

  Use a Domain You Already Own (Domain Mapping)

  Or do you want anyone who clicks on your WordPress.com address to get taken to a completely different site instead? If so, you need the Site Redirect upgrade to forward the traffic to the other site. A Site Redirect does not require a plan:
