Reblog button has disappeared from blogs
-
Last night a blogger wrote about the reblog button being removed from blogs. I checked my own and sure enough, it is gone. I checked on a few other blogs and sure enough, it is gone. Are we going to get it back?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I don’t see that either, and I’m intrigued. Let’s tag this with modlook to get a follow up from staff on the issue.

Yes, more than one blogger is having this problem. I’m at https://crackedrearviewer.wordpress.com/

Hi everyone,
We’re aware of the missing Reblog button, and our developers are looking into it. We’ll update here once we have more information.
-
Looking forward to it as it’s a big part of my workflow with a good number of community blogs that I use to cross promote on a daily basis

What I’d really like to know is…is this just another WordPress change…or is “somethn broke”. Hope it’s gets fixed soon, as it’s used daily to link my various blogs on “the writing journey”

When Staff have more to say on the reblog button disappearance they will post into this thread
-
Where is my reboot buttons …… (I’ve read the dialog, and I am patiently waiting to be fixed)
Reblog Is very helpfull, like retweet
Good blogging to all
-
PS-It would be a good Idea since WordPress developers look into it , reblog button to become more noticeable
-
Still waiting for word on fixing the reblog button issue. It’s now Day Three and is very frustrating. I reblog my content on another, collaborative site, and not having the function is very annoying!
-
Thank you, Kokkie, for the good news that the WordPress Happiness Engineers will reinstall the reblog button again.
-
I think it would be more comforting to have the Staff tell us more, as they work on the problem—reveal some of the why it happened, rather than just a blanket, “We’re working on it”, then nothing for days…
It must be a major issue and, as many who have responded in this thread indicate, their blogging has been “damaged” in various ways…
Since the users are one of the main reasons WordPress is so popular, I feel we deserve more information about this issue…
-
This has become a major issue across the blogging community. It’s obvious people want the function on their sites. It affects traffic, stats, and getting the content out to a larger audience. PLEASE fix this problem!

We don’t know why it happened. Our developers are investigating the issue to find the cause and fix it. Once we have more information we will give it, as I’d said above.

The button being missing in no way prevents you from creating new original content on your site, and you can still share content from others’ sites using the Share feature built into the Reader, or the Press This feature:
-
Reblogging swings both ways. My original content posts are reblogged quite often. By reblogging my posts, my blog is introduced to others, some who begin following. It also gives me opportunity to meet other bloggers because some also click “like” or comment, so I get a chance to visit their blogs.
I also reblog occassionally. It’s a good way of taking a rest for a day or so from writing original content while introducing another blogger to my followers who often begin following the other blogger(s).
“Press This” is little more than putting a headline on posts with a link. If people want to read headlines with one or two sentences, they can do that on Twitter or a news feed.
