Reassign name of unused 'thanksgiving.wordpress.com' blog to non profit

    Hi folks, I am very happy with your service and the ability to use a free service for our non-for-profit activities. Since 7 years, we are hosting a free Haitian Thanksgiving community brunch, serving 300 meals for underprivileged member of the community, and we would like to use your blog thanksgiving.wordpress.com to publish about our service. However, the name is taken and since 2005 not used. The blog is empty. I am wondering if there is a possibility to reassign this name to us. I am looking forward to hear from you soon. Klaus

    Sorry, but that is not possible: WordPress.com does not re-assign unused, abandoned, or deleted blog names. Here is more information:

    I’d suggest trying a similar name, for example 2013thanksgiving

    There is also a paid upgrade called domain mapping so that the underlying name would not matter:
