Random Photos have disappeared from my blog

    Random photos which have been on my unposted blog for a week and was fine when I sent it this morning have disappeared. I have tried reloading and they still don’t appear. It is also loading now very slowly so it takes a while to download a photo from iPhoto Random photos on previously sent blogs have also disappeared today. ?? Thanks for any help I can get in advance JayneZ

    Howdy,

    I can see the images that you’re missing—first look, it appears there may be some misalignment between our various servers. We keep copies of your images on multiple servers that are geographically spread apart to help ensure fast loading time.

    i tried to load photos onto a new blog and the same thing is happening now. I have some blogs for the holidays that i wrote a while ago without my photos so they seem to be ok.
    I was at apple learning aperture and they looked at the blog and of course they think it is a combination of my computer getting slower and a blog problem. Im going to try to download maverick in a few days and see if that helps but they think it is on the wordpress end as well.

    Howdy,

    After examining the files involved, the images that aren’t loading are in the Adobe Photoshop Image format (even though they have .jpg file names), which is why this is happening. For images, we support JPEG (.jpeg, .jpg), .gif, and .png files, when saved in those formats.

    If you resave those images and upload, everything should work as expected. If you’re using Photoshop, you can use the Save as Web option to help ensure it’s in the valid format.

    sorry I’m not that computer savvy. I load all my photos from the same camera using a memory card plugged into my computer to iPhoto. I’ve done this for over a year now.
    The ones that did show up on this blog were from the same camera the same card and the same day. How did they end up as different files? this is actually the last blogs from a long trip and the same memory card and everything else is there. The ones that did show up are different files? How does that happen?some are from the same fifteen minutes of shooting. It shows up on my draft and in the media files. Ill try it but I’m not sure it makes sense to me. thanks

    Hi,

    I’m afraid I’m not sure—may need to check with Apple regarding iPhoto.

    The pictures that are working—if you check their size— are about 3-5 MB in size, which is typical and normal for a JPEG. The pictures that aren’t working are 25+ MB with the different format.

    I did a quick look through the iPhoto support area, but nothing popped out to me. You can ask at https://discussions.apple.com/community/ilife/iphoto or maybe one of their folks in the store.

    Thanks so much I actually have an appointment tomorrow at the genius bar so I will show this to them . I seem to be in the PHD program there (ha ha) That is so weird that the pictures would come up different sizes let you know what i find out.     Omg you are the best. I have been dealing with this for seven weeks. and apple has not been able to solve this problem. they kept saying it was a wordpress problem. the files on i photo were corrupted . we reloaded it and now they are all the right size. I now have to go back and take them out of my media library (which I’m sure is why i have been having such trouble loading them) the problem is they took off all the corrupted files and now I don’t know how to know which ones in the media library are too big. I would say at least half my australia photos were bad – not just this blog and it is causing a big problem for me because it takes so long to load now. Is there a way i can go in and see the sizes? thank you so much.

    I can’t get into the media file to go back more than a couple of blogs probably because of all the corrupted files in there -Is there a way you can get them out? They are things I have learned in Australia, Welcome to the is Journey, things I have learned in Sydney, (Ive gotten some out of things I have learned in Melbourne but they were probably not the corrupted ones, Uluru Rock, Street Art In Melbourne, Ive done the others.     thanks I’m very impressed with you and wordpress!!! not so much with the many “geniuses” at apple. its a slow process but I’m getting them out!!!!
