See https://anautismobserver.wordpress.com/screenshots-showing-quotes-obscuring-text/ for a screenshot showing how quotes on a blog can obscure part of the following text. (This issue occurs on Firefox but not on Chrome or Microsoft Edge.)
Please fix this issue. Thanks. The blog I need help with is anautismobserver.wordpress.com.
Hm, that’s no good.
Would you please give us a link to the post or page where this is happening on your site?
It’s not happening on my site. It’s happening on https://autisticnick.com/2020/07/06/a-new-tv-show-about-autism-is-coming-but-just-how-involved-in-the-process-are-we/ (which is a blog I read)
I’m not seeing the problem there under Firefox 78.0.2: https://d.pr/i/2Nw3eU
First, please make sure that your browser is up to date: https://browsehappy.com/
If it is not, please try updating your browser or switching to a different browser.
If it is, please do these two things:
1. Try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies.
2. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.
Please let us know how each step goes for you, and which browser (and version of) you’re using if you’re still having trouble.
None of those help (except switching to a different browser). My firefox is up to date.
What resolution is your screen, and is Firefox the full width?
The resolution is 1920×1080 and the problem happens regardless of the browser width.
I’m just not seeing the problem under Firefox 78.0.2, no matter what my window size and resolution are.
Can you verify that you are on Firefox 78.0.2, please? I’m not doubting you, but I have seen plenty of folks claim “latest” who were not on the latest over my 10 years here, so just double-checking.
And, did you definitely try with all browser extensions disabled?
Sorry to ask these again, but I absolutely don’t see a problem (and neither can any of my colleagues that I’ve asked to double-check), and I can’t address a problem that I can’t reproduce.
Yes and yes.
If nobody else reports this problem, it’s probably not worth pursuing further. It’s not a big deal for me.
Thanks for investigating this. I really appreciate how responsive this forum is.One more question, which OS are you running Firefox under?
I’m running Firefox 78.0.2 under macOS 10.15.6.
I doubt it would be OS-specific, but we have ways to look into that too.
Windows 10 Pro, version 1903, installed 6/14/2019, OS build 18362.959
Firefox 78.0.2 (64-bit)Here’s what we’re seeing under Windows 10 and Firefox 78.0.2: https://d.pr/i/fE3uaq
So, I’m not sure what’s going on, it’s possible it could be a font problem, but I’m a bit out of guesses, I’m sorry. :(
Just FYI, I restarted firefox in safe mode and the problem persisted.
