Questions re Transferred Site

A WP.com site owner transferred their site to me and everything went pretty much as described in the support doc. However, after the transfer I noticed two oddities:

1.) while looking at posts and pages dashboards, the author shows sometimes my account and sometimes the original owner’s account. How can I change the author to show only my account? (The original owner is not a user on the site.)

2.) the admin email in the site’s General Settings shows my email address, but also a notice that There is a pending change of the admin e-mail to originalsiteownersemail with a “cancel” link next to it.

As far as I can tell from the email notice I received from WordPress.com the transfer succeeded and the original site owner says they have not received anything further from WordPress.com following the transfer, so what does this notice mean? Is there something that either one of us needs to do?

Thank you for any help offered.

What is the URL of the blog in question?

I do not wish to post the address in a public forum, as it is a private site. It definitely is a WordPress.com site.

If it’s a private site, volunteers in the forum cannot help you.

Not to belabor the point, but neither of the questions needs for someone to look at the site itself. They’re both sort of general questions.

    1) How do I change the author of posts and pages to only my username?

    2) Does the notice about “pending change of the admin email” require action on either my or the original owner’s part?

    Thanks again.

Depends on the hosting and we have to check it out first. If the site is private, we’ll be able to confirm the hosting without reading the blog.

I do not wish to post the address in a public forum, as it is a private site. It definitely is a WordPress.com site.

Which means it’s hosted on WordPress.com, as in transferredsite.wordpress.com

Anyway, I already found the answer to my first question, which is make the change via the Bulk Edit feature on the Posts/Pages Dashboard.

Now just need an answer for the second question about the Pending Change of email notice in the General Settings Dashboard. If you don’t know the answer, then how do I get the attention of someone that does?

Does the notice about “pending change of the admin email” require action on either my or the original owner’s part?

If you don’t want the e-mail address to be changed, you can click on the cancel link. It’s shows as pending because the change has to be confirmed by the blog owner. If you haven’t received any confirmation e-mail I’d be happy to change the e-mail address for you.

Please let us know if you need any further assistance!

@kardotim-I guess I’m confused by your reply.

All signs pointed to the site transfer being successful; the site owner received the WP.com email with the link in it to make the transfer, clicked it and I received an email from WP.com saying that the transfer was successful. Why then would my email address appear as the site’s Admin email, but with a “pending change” to the original site owner’s email address? Under what circumstance would I want the site Admin email to revert to the original site owner’s email?

The extra step of cancelling the pending change in Admin email doesn’t seem to be mentioned anywhere in the support doc on site transfer. Regardless, I’ve now clicked the “Cancel” button.

Thanks for reporting this! We’ll keep an eye out to see if that happens more often.

I’m happy it’s resolved now. Please let us know if you need any further assistance!
