Provide a visitor and blog-view stats for blog views via WordPress Reader

  • For low volume blogs, most views of posts come from the WordPress viewer such as followers or freshly pressed. Because the reader uses a proxy and cached browser, these do not show up as visitors or page views in the blog’s stats. It would be useful to know to the number of times each post is seen by a WordPress user using the WordPress reader instead of the going directly to the site.

There should be some way to extract this information from the reader’s logs and distribute the results to the appropriate owners. The information would be useful even if this information were delayed such as by a day.
